Join us on a unique journey through North Africa were we visit Australian, New Zealander, British, South African and other Commonwealth nations legendary pilgrimage WW2 sites, War Cemeteries and Memorial. So it is in these ancient lands of North Africa where the ANZAC sprit was typified in battle. The deeds of the Commonwealth Allies forces form a small part of the great story of the region. The names are Australian legends - Tobruk and El Alamein.
The tour will visit the battlefields and other Australian related sites in Libya and Egypt, But it's not just military sites - the tour will visit some of the most extraordinary places in the ancient world, including Leptis Magna, Qasr Libya, Cyrene, Alexandria, Cairo and the Pyramids.

Deposit and Payment Requirements
A deposit of $400 per person is required in order to secure a place on the tour. Please contact our office if you would like a Tour Registration form. If your are travelling from Australia to Cairo, Pilgrimage Travel and Tours can assist you in offering competitive airfares. Please advise our office of this requirement at the time of your registration.
Undertaking further travel
If you would like to undertake further travel at the end of the tour. Pilgrimage Travel & Tours will be able to assist you with additional travel. Please advise your needs when registering for the tour.
Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVE CAIRO Arrive in Cairo Airport where you will be met by a representative of Pilgrimage Travel and Tours and transferred to your hotel for check in. You will be picked and transferred to the Nile River to board you vessel for your dinner cruise tonight. A transfer back to your hotel for the evening. Hotel- Sheaperd Hotel Cairo. (D).
DAY 2: CAIRO This morning after breakfast we will visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx. We will have a traditional lunch with a panoramic view of the Pyramids and Sphinx. In the afternoon, we will visit the Egyptian Museum followed by a light and sound show back at the Pyramids. Hotel - Sheaperd Hotel Cairo.
DAY 3: CAIRO - ALEXANDRIA - EL ALEMAIN. (B, D) This morning after a breakfast we will check out and journey to Alexandria were we will visit Chatby War Cemetery. After lunch we continue to drive to El Alemain. Dinner tonight at our Hotel in El Alemain (B, D).
DAY 4: EL ALEMAIN After breakfast today we will pay homage to the Anzacs and there Commonwealth Allies as we visit the El Alamein Commonwealth War cemetery, The El Alemain War Museum. We will have suffi cient time to wander through these memorials. We may wish to visit the German and Italian Cemeteries also. Mid afternoon we will journey onto Masra Matrouh for our overnight stay. Dinner at our Hotel in Masra Matrouh (B, D).
DAY 5: AL SALLOUM - LIBYA BORDER - TOBRUK After an early breakfast, we will journey west with the Mediterranean Sea on our right and the Western desert on our left to Al Salloum, where we have a quick stop at the Commonwealth War Cemetery. We will continue to the Egypt Libya border for departure and entry process. Once through the border we will head or Tobruk via the Bardia murals. Dinner tonight at our Hotel in Tobruk- Hotel Al Jagboub(B, D).
DAY 6: TOBRUK Today we will Excursion to the famous World War II city of Tobruk. Visit the Knightsbridge, Commonwealth and French cemeteries, the German monument, the Fig Tree dugout hospital, and also visit the Red Line Hill 209 and trenches utilizing 4WD vehicles. We will the overnight in Tobruk. Dinner tonight at our Hotel in Tobruk - Hotel Al Jagboub (B, D).
DAY 7: TOBRUK - CYRENE - BENGHAZI Today after breakfast we will continue west towards the stunning Greco-Roman city of Cyrene with its Necropolis, Temple of Zeus, Forum, Agora, House of Jason Magnus and Sanctuary of Apollo. We will then continue onto to Benghazi where we will visit the Benghazi Commonwealth War Cemetery Dinner tonight at our Hotel in Benghazi -Hotel Al Nouraan (B, D).
DAY 8: BENGHAZI - LEPTIS MAGNA - TRIPOLI Morning leaving Benghazi and fl ight to Tripoli then transfer to visit Leptis Magna, one of the world’s fi nest and most complete examples of a Roman city. Monuments seen today include the Arch of Septimus Severus, the Baths of Hadrian, the Old Forum and the Theatre, return to Tripoli Overnight (B, D). Dinner tonight at our Hotel in Tripoli - Hotel Al Okhowa (B, D).
DAY 9: TRIPOLI Morning there will be a tour of the, Tripoli Museum, home to a superb collection of classical sculptures and mosaics, Afternoon exploration of Tripoli including War Cemetery, the medina and the Arch of Marcus Aurelius. Dinner tonight at our Hotel in Tripoli - Hotel Al Okhowa (B, D).
DAY 10: TRIPOLI Departure: Today you will check out of your hotel and you will be transferred to the airport for your onward fl ights. (B).
