Battlefields: War History Tours

As the years pass and the further away we are from the two world wars, the more fascinating they seem to later generations. Tours of the battlefields are increasingly popular as the later generations are increasingly being drawn back to experience something of this period of history.

Many of the people travelling to battlefield sites do not want to be seen as tourists. To them tourists are people who get into a bus and get driven around and get out fo the bus and get taken to a restaurant, sometimes without engaging with what they are really seeing.

Many of the people visiting battlefield sites go not because they experience what the men and women who fought and died there experienced, but because by going there, they add to the chain of memory, and the storytelling. In making the journey they discover what the story was and how it connects with them and to their family. How it connects them to the families of the world whose sons and daughters connected with ours in some profound way in these fields.
